Mac Cleland, Vietnam veterans, veterans advocate and former US Senator spoke to a capacity crowd of over 400 in the convention hall of the Clarion Hotel in Chattanooga Sunday, July 15.  He appeared in support of candidates John Kerry and John Edwards.

Mac Cleland arrives at the Clarion Hotel in Chattanooga Sunday, May 15, and is greeted by World War II paratrooper Ralph Wilson.  A Vietnam veterans, advocate for veterans and former US Senator, Cleland lost his legs and an arm to a grenade explosion.  He is a member of the Alvin C. York Airborne Chapter along with Wilson who was with Harold Russell in Europe when Russell lost both hands defusing a mine.  Russell played the returning sailor in the movie "Best Years of Our Lives."
