Cleveland has its own Watergate Coverup

Story from Cleveland Daily Banner

Sheriff Gilley protest Gobble transfer
--from Chattanoogan.com

You wouldn’t think a Watergate coverup could happen in a conservative city such as Cleveland.  But something is wrong if a current or past chief of police can dictate to the most respected of government law enforcement agencies—the Secret Service.

Secret Service agent Tim Gobble, who served as First Lady Barbara Bush’s personal bodyguard, asked his superior in Nashville if he could run for Cleveland’s City Council.  He was approved and elected, but he made the mistake of criticizing Police Chief Lee Reese, who has since been terminated.

First, Mr. Gobble was ordered to resign for City Council after a conflict with Chief Reese.  Now he is being reassigned to Washington, DC, supposedly for being unable to get along with the local police department.  City officials deny this.

An investigation could begin with the connection of Chief Reese with the police chief in Franklin, and that city’s police chief with the head of the Secret Service in Nashville with the suggestion of a romantic involvement.  This smells too badly to go unnoticed.
