NEWSLETTER FOR COMMANDER'S CORNER Our Buddy Poppy Drive was a great success, thanks to those who worked to make it one of the best we have ever had. If you didn’t attend the Orange Grove Party you missed a good time. We served a large number of hotdogs, cokes and chips. The Orange Grove residents left happy and full. The National Commander will visit our post on December 14. We will be serving dinner to the traveling party at seven PM. Feel free to drop by and meet the commander. Tickets for the New Years Eve Dance will go on sale December 7, 2000, fifteen minutes after the regular monthly meeting. The cost will be $15.00 each. This includes admission, party favors, set ups and Champaign at midnight. Be sure to come by and reserve you table. We will be doing our Christmas baskets on December 23, at 9:00 a.m.; your help will be appreciated. Our annual Christmas Dinner will be held on December 17, at 4:00 P.M. AUXILIARY NEWS Our hearts are heavy due to the death of Dorothy Stewart. Dot passed away quietly in her sleep on Saturday, November 18, 2000. Burial was at National Cemetery on Monday, November 20, 2000. Joan Farris is recovering from bypass surgery. She would enjoy a card or phone call from her auxiliary sisters. It is good to see Virginia Haskins, up and about. Just proves you can’t keep a good woman down. Auxiliary members will be assisting with the National Commanders visit on December 14. Please let Alice know if you will be able to help. The Post annual Christmas dinner will be held on December 17, at 4:00 P.M. I know you will want to attend. If you have not paid your dues for 2001, please do so as soon as possible. Time is running out. You will no longer be a member in good standing after December 31. We need your support to keep our auxiliary strong. Our monthly meeting will be held on December 7 at seven P.M. We would really like to see all of you there. Please try to attend.
